MSU to assist students who lost State of Michigan grant money
The state’s budget has been finalized, and does not include funding for Michigan Promise Scholarship (MPS). This has impacted over 8000 MSU students. MSU has committed to replacing some or all of a student’s lost MPS with an institutional grant, the MSU Promise Replacement Award (MPRA), which is funded by one-time federal stimulus money. Our neediest students will receive 100%, or $1000, of the lost MPS in the new institutional MPRA. Other students will receive 50%, or $500, in MPRA.
MSU Office of Financial Aid will notify affected students by email.
