File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you are eligible. This will give you access to federal loans and MSU need-based grant money. These awards are for U.S. citizens and permanent residents only.

Loans for international students
- CitiAssist Loans are available to full and part-time undergraduate students attending accredited 4 or 5 year universities or colleges and full and part-time graduate students attending accredited graduate schools. International students must apply with a creditworthy individual who is a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident and has a permanent U.S. address.
