FM radio tax

The FM radio tax supports the student-run radio station, Impact 89FM, as well as the student media website, impact89fm.org. The organization is supported by a student-voted fee collected each semester.

Refunds of the FM radio tax may be requested by students directly through the Impact89FM website at: https://impact89fm.org/tax-refunds/.

ASMSU tax

ASMSU (Associated Students of MSU) is the all-university undergraduate student government. ASMSU provides many services to students such as free legal services, funding for student programs and events, MSU yearbook and copy and faxing services. All activities and programs are funded through a student voted tax collected each semester. For questions, call 517-355-8266 or email info@asmsu.msu.edu.

If you are requesting a refund, contact the office at the number above. You will be required to provide proof of payment and registration. For fall and spring semesters, you must take action before the end of the first two weeks (or first 10 class days) of the semester. For summer, you must take action before the end of the first two weeks (or first 10 class days) of the first session.

COGS tax

COGS (Council of Graduate Students) is the all-university graduate and graduate-professional student governing body. Activities and services are funded through a student voted tax collected each semester. For questions, visit them in-person at Chittenden Hall (Room 120), call 517-353-9189, or email office@cogs.msu.edu.

The State News tax

The State News and StateNews.com are independent student newspaper publications. This student-run newspaper is funded by a student-voted tax collected each semester. The State News is located at 435 Grand River Avenue, across from Olin Health Center.

If you are requesting a refund, call 517-295-1680. You will be required to provide proof of payment and registration. For fall and spring semesters, you must take action before the end of the first two weeks (or first 10 class days) of the semester. For summer, you must take action before the end of the first two weeks (or first 10 class days) of the first session.

Recreation and Wellness Center Fee

Funds from this fee directly support student health and wellness through construction and improvement of campus recreation and wellness facilities. More information about construction of the new Health, Wellness & Fitness Center can be found here.
