MAD = Minimum Amount Due

This is the minimum amount you must pay by the date stated on your bill in order to become REGISTERED.

If you do not PAY YOUR MAD AND CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE (even if your MAD is $0), you will be disenrolled from your classes, required to re‑enroll, and charged a late enrollment fee.

 

Financial Aid Calendar

2009

Beginning January 1

Complete the 2009-2010 version of the FAFSA for the academic year beginning fall semester 2009 and ending summer semester 2010.

January 1 to March 1

Notify the Office of Financial Aid (in StuInfo/eFinaid) if you will attend the summer semester 2009 and want to be considered for financial aid. You must also have filed the 2008-2009 FAFSA.

March 2

First deferred spring semester 2009 payment due.

April 1

Second (last) deferred spring semester 2009 payment due.

Mid-April

If you correctly filed the 2009-2010 FAFSA, expect to receive your 2009-2010 financial aid award notice from MSU. If you are asked for any additional documentation, respond promptly.

Expect to receive your summer semester 2009 registration bill if you've already enrolled.

Early May

Summer semester 2009 MAD due.
Full fee payment schedule and deferred payment plan dates are listed on the Controller's Office website.

Mid-May through Mid-August

Summer semester 2009 classes held.

July 25

Fall bills available in Stuinfo for most students.

New students: You won't receive your registration bill until you have completed academic orientation.

August 13

Fall semester 2009 MAD due for most students.

September 2

Fall semester 2009 classes begin. A late enrollment fee of $100 is assessed for students enrolling on or after this date.

September 28

End of fall refund period. No refunds for dropped classes after this date.

October 1

First deferred fall semester 2009 payment due.

November 2

Second (last) deferred fall semester 2009 payment due.

November 14

Spring semester 2010 registration bills will be available in StuInfo.

December 11

Spring semester 2010 MAD due.

December 11

Last day of fall semester 2009 classes & exams.


2010

Beginning January 1

Complete the 2010-2011 version of the FAFSA for the academic year beginning fall semester 2010 and ending summer semester 2011.

January 1 to March 1

Notify the Office of Financial Aid (in StuInfo/eFinaid) if you will attend the summer semester 2010 and want to be considered for financial aid. You must also have filed the 2009-2010 FAFSA.

February 14

College Goal Sunday for high school students. Get help with your FAFSA and your other questions about college financial aid.
