MSU Financial Aid Status

Your student can check their financial aid status any time online by visiting StuInfo and clicking on Financial Aid (Check Your Aid). When bills go out our office receives a lot of calls about why aid isn't appearing on a student's bill. This can happen when the student hasn't completed all of their required actions or they have not turned in paperwork that we have requested.

Take a moment to visit StuInfo to be sure they are all set. You will see checkmarks next to each tab in StuInfo - Financial Aid (Check Your Aid) when the student has completed the required tasks.

Please note that most requests for additional information are available to view in StuInfo under Financial Aid (Check Your Aid), but there are some occasions where we have to request the information via a paper letter to the student's permanent mailing address during summer and local mailing during the school year.

Fall Bills

Bills for Fall 2017 will be created by MSU Student Accounts on July 23rd for enrolled students. Bills are viewable in StuInfo.

You can calculate estimated tuition and fees by using the MSU Student Accounts Tuition and Fee calculator at:

For families who may want an estimate of their out-of-pocket expenses for fall we recommend using the calculator above to estimate the total cost and then subtracting the amount of financial aid the student was offered for fall semester.

If you are a parent or someone assisting an MSU student with financial aid and billing now is a good time to set-up a Community ID and Guest Access if you haven't done so already. Visit our website for more information.

We have put together a video about the billing and financial aid process at:

MSU is required to verify the data supplied on the FAFSA (Federal Application for Federal Student Aid) in cases where a student's application is selected for verification, typically through random selection by the federal government.

If we need to verify your application, we will contact you by mail or email and StuInfo will also explain what additional information is needed.
It is important to note that you should not send us documents unless we have specifically requested them.
