Important Information Regarding the Michigan Competitive Scholarship

Students who are Michigan residents, file their FAFSA by March 1st, have some financial need, and have a qualifying ACT score are considered for the Michigan Competitive Scholarship. In the past high school students were required to supply their social security number when completing the ACT. This is no longer required. In order for the State of Michigan Student Scholarships and Grants office to match your ACT test score and FAFSA information they need to have your social security number on file. They are requesting that students contact them via the phone if they chose not to supply their social security number on their ACT application. Their number is 1-888-4-GRANTS or 1-888-447-2687. For more information you can review the Michigan Competitive Scholarship Fact Sheet here.
