summer aid

Students planning to attend classes in Summer 2014 (US14) who would like to be considered for financial aid will need to apply for summer financial aid by March 1st, 2014. The application is located in StuInfo in the Financial Aid - Check Your Aid section. There is a link titled "Summer Aid Application/Status". We have a webpage at the following link that discusses important information about summer financial aid: http://www.finaid.msu.edu/summer.asp

FAQ

I see a credit on my spring bill, when do I receive the refund?

Students that have financial aid (grants, scholarships, and loans) in excess of their MSU charges receive a refund. Refunds are issued about a week prior to the start of each semester. For students who have set up direct deposit, spring semester refunds should be available in their bank account on December 31st.

Students are not able to receive their spring refund prior to this date. One primary reason is that federal student aid is not sent to MSU until 10 days prior to the start of each semester.
