Please view the details of the programs you are interested in and contact the organization listed, as MSU does not accept applications for these scholarships. Michigan State University does not determine eligibility for these scholarships or hold affiliation with any of the organizations. Scholarships are sorted by deadline, with earliest deadline first. At various times of the year, there may be no scholarships to display.

The winner of the scholarship will receive a $1,000 scholarship to further their post-secondary educational goals.
  • To be eligible for the Young Women’s Empowerment Scholarship, all applicants must be in excellent academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. They must also be currently enrolled in an accredited community college, undergraduate, or graduate program within the United States.
  • The applicant must write a 1,000-word essay explaining how they have empowered young women in their family or community. That can include helping someone overcome discrimination, teaching someone a new skill or encouraging someone to reach their goals. Essays will be judged on writing quality as well as the specific experiences described.

  • Currently attending attending high school and will be attending an accredited school in the next academic year to one of the aforementioned programs.
  • To apply, please write a 750-1500 word essay describing who you are and how you plan to use your education to contribute to a thriving community of trade workers who are dedicated to a hands-on approach to knowledge development.
